Starting a New Conversation in the Fight Against Cyberbullying.

October 18th, 2016 - Millions of children around the world are cyberbullied every year; 9 out of 10 who experience it never tell an adult. This startling statistic is the inspiration for Norton's #RaiseOurVoices Campaign, helmed by Chelsea Director Peyton Wilson and Grey San Francisco. The film, "Raise Your Voice Against Cyberbullying", features 6 real families who have experienced cyberbullying first hand, issuing a call to end the silence and take action against this growing epidemic.

The young victims on camera reveal their cyberbullying experiences to their parents for the first time. All of the parents are equally shocked and saddened by this news, which speaks to the overarching issue: communication. The experience shows that strength comes from the act of open discussion, eliciting an emotional impact on its subjects as well as its audience.

"I've done thousands of interviews and this was hands down the hardest for me. And, at the same time, I think it was cathartic for the families to share their stories in a profound way, and in a profound setting" says Wilson, highlighting the emotional response the piece draws from its' subjects. She adds that the spot wishes "to build a story that leaves the audience feeling these kids' pain and also understanding how critical it is that families talk to, and love, each other." In addition to Peyton's piece, the #RaiseOurVoices campaign includes an e-book guide to cyberbullying for parents and their children.
