Chelsea Pictures Directors David Gordon Green and Alex Gibney will both be headlining their newest films at this year's South By Southwest festival.
Following a great run at both Venice and Toronto Film Festivals, David Gordon Green's Manglehorn will have its U.S. Premiere on Saturday, March 14th. The film follows a reclusive small town locksmith, played by Al Pacino, who must cope with the loss of the love of his life, but 'forges on with his tenuous human connections and finds himseld at a crossroads between staying mired in the past and embracing the present.'
In creating his characters, David Gordon Green collaborated heavily with his cast, which also included Holly Hunter and Harmony Korine. Green also invited back frequent collaborators David Wingo and Explosions in the Sky to compose the film's original soundtrack.
Alex Gibney's Steve Jobs: Man in the Machine, will have its U.S. and world premiere at the Festival as well. Gibney's doc takes a more critical take on the Apple visionary who was simultaneously 'revered as an iconoclastic genius and a barbed-tongued tyrant.' Man in the Machine will also have its premiere screening on March 14th.
