Documentarian Peyton Wilson Joins Chelsea Pictures For U.S. Representation.

March 18th, 2016 – Director and Documentarian, Peyton Wilson has just signed with Bi-Coastal production company Chelsea Pictures for exclusive representation in the United States.

Peyton Wilson is one of today’s most interesting documentary filmmakers. Her work includes the acclaimed fighter pilot documentary feature Speed and Angels, honored with screenings at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, across the Festival circuit, including Best in Fest and Best Documentary at the San Luis Obispo Film Festival and the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the San Diego Film Festival, and broadcast on Discovery Channel; and the documentary short The Bronzer, which also enjoyed a successful Fillm Festival run and rave reviews in the press. Film Threat compared Peyton’s approach—which elicits the openness and depth of character of The Bronzer’s subject—to the style of one of film’s masters, Ingmar Bergman.

“I have been a fan of Peyton’s work for years, “ notes Chelsea Partner and EP Allison Amon, “I am just thrilled to be representing her and her unique vision here at Chelsea."

Peyton’s long list of branded work includes The Nature Conservancy’s “Our Nature,” a beautiful film narrated by Jessica Chastain about a woman’s first love—Nature, that was praised in tastemakers such as FastCoCreate and Creativity; HP’s “Making Zebras Dance” web film (BBDO NY), a portrait of DreamWorks’ animator Rex Grignon; Special K’s “More Than A Number” (Leo Burnett Chicago), a hidden camera spot and SHOOT Top Spot with real women who demonstrate that confidence and beauty go beyond the size of their waistlines; a campaign for U.S. Navy (Campbell-Ewald) featuring a reservist and chaplain whose poignant narratives unfold in authentically documented stories; and an integrated campaign for Nokia about TED Fellows (Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam). Peyton’s impressive body of work landed her a profile last summer in EMMY magazine’s prestigious “In The Mix” series.

Recently, Peyton has created the documentary series ‘On Meaning.’ Featuring interviews with subjects ranging from prison inmates, to athletes, to musicians such as Moby, the series aims to examine the sources of meaning in the everyday.

“I am so happy to have Peyton with us,” said Co-Owner and EP Lisa Mehling, “Allison and I were drawn to the the range of captivating films she has made, and how she consistently finds the human story. The composition and tone of her films are stunning in both her advertising as well as longform work.  She is spot on for what agencies are looking for in a director.”

As a California Native, Peyton loves spending time in the outdoors and always brings that fondness to her writing and documentary filmmaking. When she’s not behind the camera, she is probably riding horses, her favorite pastime.

"I’m thrilled to join Chelsea. Allison and Lisa are a force,  and I’ve always been intrigued by the diversity of the work that Chelsea produces. From profoundly meaningful pieces to whimsical and fun. They do it all beautifully. I’m excited to be part of that,” said Peyton.

The director joins Chelsea for U.S. Representation, and is represented in Europe with O Positive London.
