January 26th, 2017 - Chelsea director Amir Bar-Lev's highly anticipated Grateful Dead documentary, Long Strange Trip, has made its' world premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Executive Produced by legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese, the film presents a comprehensive look at the band's storied 30-year run, from their electrifying start in 1965 to their 1995 disbandment.
"The tale of The Grateful Dead is inspiring, complicated, and downright messy" notes a repsentative for the festival, highlighting the unique and exciting rollercoaster to be captured and displayed by Bar-Lev's feature. Production on the film began in 2010, and showcases never-before-seen footage and interviews, bringing both longtime fans and new ears an unprecedented look at the rock icons.

Amir Bar-Lev's film work includes the gripping documentaries Happy Valley, The Tillman Story, and My Kid Could Paint That - all past Sundance premieres, as well as Re:Generation, produced in association with The Grammy's.
